Turned 15 on December 13, 2025 — just before Pixie arrived. Turns 16 on December 13, 2026.
His name is Tupak. He is a Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) and he is nearly sixteen. He is blind and deaf, and he is, without question, the most patient soul in this household. He has seen things. He has survived things. He has, on more than one occasion, survived me.
He is dignified and wise in a way I find both admirable and convenient — because his patience is exactly what allows me to take his bully stick, his sunny spot, and occasionally his dignity. He sighs. He sighs a lot. But he lets me curl up beside him when the world feels too big, and he has never once told me to leave.
In the masthead of Thy Pixie Edit, I am the Editor. Tupak is the Senior Editor Emeritus. He does not ask for much. He does not need to. He has earned his title. I would never admit this to his face. He probably already knows.

Things I have, at some point, taken from him.
A partial list. He would like it known that he is, generally, very patient.
His bully stick (repeatedly, see: The Bully Stick Incident)
His preferred sunbeam
The warm spot on the bed he had clearly claimed first
His peace and quiet (hourly)
Before the bell, there was patience.
Tupak, before Pixie: patiently waiting by the slider. No bell. Just dignity. Pixie, after Tupak: DING. Naturally, she has upgraded the system.
"Yes, I already have a bully stick. That's not the point."
