Slotho Pillow: The Eternal Embrace

I do not sleep with just anyone. But Slotho is different. He does not move. He does not attempt to give unsolicited affection. He is soft, loyal, and sized to support a six-pound monarch.

The humans caught me snoozing with my muzzle tucked against his chest and my crest elegantly draped. They gasped. They called it 'precious.' I opened one eye and issued a formal mental reprimand.

Still, the composition speaks for itself. True icons know when to rest.

Pixie's verdict: Slotho: still PIXIE APPROVED. Primary structural pillow.

Field Report: Why One Bed Is Never Enough

Field Report: Why One Bed Is Never Enough

There were two beds. A rectangular one and my donut. Separately, they were fine. Together — under my direct supervision — they became a compound estate. I dragged the donut across the floor until it overlapped the rectangular bed at the precise angle I required.

The humans seemed confused. 'She just had to pull it there,' one of them said, as if this were strange. It is not strange. It is zoning. A dog of my standing cannot be expected to settle for a single bed when two are available.

Yes, there happened to be toys nearby. That is not a toy bin. That is the surrounding territory of my newly merged estate, and the plushes are tenants.

Pixie's verdict: Real estate: PIXIE APPROVED. One bed: insufficient.

Outfit Review: The Dia de los Muertos Bone PJ

Outfit Review: The Dia de los Muertos Bone PJ

Tactical evening couture at its absolute finest: black one-piece pajamas patterned with sugar-skull dog bones and accented with a crisp turquoise collar trim. Fitted hindquarters, tail tuft deployed, crest framed perfectly from above.

Standing proudly on the travertine floor looking up with total confidence. Warmth: 10/10. Intimidation factor: surprisingly lethal for six pounds. Silhouette: Día de los Muertos haute couture.

Final verdict: pajamas stay on. The teal piping is an editorial triumph. Everyone please look down and admire me.

Pixie's verdict: PIXIE APPROVED. Calavera haute couture.

Poolside Sovereignty & The Wet Truth

Poolside Sovereignty & The Wet Truth

Sunbathing is not a hobby. For a hairless Chinese Crested, it is a constitutional duty. I occupied the navy chaise by the pool, aligned my crest to the southern breeze, and let the humans admire me from a respectful distance.

The pool sat right there, blue and smug. I considered it. I decided it could wait until I was good and ready. A countess does not rush her leisure, and I was not yet finished being looked at.

Pixie's verdict: Sunbathing: 11/10. Pool water: under review pending towel readiness.

The Lanai Sploot: Maximum Surface Contact

The Lanai Sploot: Maximum Surface Contact

There is casual reclining, and then there is the architectural sploot. Rear legs extended straight back, front paws reaching toward the pool, pink tank top hugging every contour.

They called it 'ridiculous.' I call it optimal thermodynamic efficiency. The sun hits every square inch of hairless skin simultaneously.

Do not attempt this posture unless you are six pounds of confidence and completely committed to the sploot.

Pixie's verdict: Sploot efficiency: 100%. Navy chaise sovereignty: absolute.

Five Squirrels. A Summit. I Was Outnumbered.
Entry 06·September 10, 2026

Five Squirrels. A Summit. I Was Outnumbered.

Five of them. On my fence. Flicking their tails in unison like some kind of rodent board meeting. The audacity was structural.

I ran the perimeter until the lanai became a blur. They watched. They did not flee. I am forced to conclude they are organized.

I have filed a full report. See: The Lanai Squirrel Report, entry three. This is not over. It is never over.

Pixie's verdict: Threat level: Defcon Tail. Indefinitely.

I post when I have something to say. Which is often. The world is not short on material.
